The Rochelle ISD Board of Trustees approved the school calendar for the 2025-2026 school year at this week's regularly scheduled meeting. After receiving feedback from parents, faculty, and staff, the approved calendar for next year has a few notable changes. One big change is the half day before the start of the Christmas holiday that has been changed to a full day instead of a half day. Another major change is the extension of the school day to meet state instructional minutes rules; for next school year our school day will start at 7:50AM and our school day will conclude at 4:21PM. Our calendar continues to operate on a four-day school week with school starting the first Monday in August and the final day of school taking place the week before Memorial Day.

The Rochelle Junior High Hornets closed out their season with a win against Menard tonight! The Hornets finished their season with an impressive 7-2 record! Shoutout to the 8th graders for wrapping up their JH basketball careers on a high note! Great season Hornets!!

Last night the Rochelle Lady Hornets basketball season came to an end in a tough loss against Blackwell 81-31. Thank you lady's for a great season, and for always representing Rochelle the right way!

Our annual Valentine letter writing and decorating is complete! The cards will be delivered to the residents in our local nursing homes. We hope to brighten their Valentine's Day!

Congratulations to our Students and Employee of the Month! We are thrilled to recognize some outstanding individuals this month for their hard work and dedication: 🌟 Elementary Student of the Month: Lincoln Betts (1st Grade) Lincoln is a hardworking student who strives to exceed expectations set by his teacher, Mrs. Cavness. He has already met his end-of-year station reading goals, setting a great example for others. Keep up the amazing work, Lincoln! 🌟 Middle School Student of the Month: Drake Teague (8th Grade) Drake is not only involved in basketball, track, and UIL, but he also maintains near-perfect attendance and zero detentions! His dedication both in and outside of the classroom is truly impressive. Way to go, Drake! 🌟 High School Student of the Month: Kaycee Davidson (12th Grade) Kaycee is a shining star! As the current valedictorian with over 40 college dual credit hours, she continues to excel. She’s going to state in CX debate, plays drums in the band, and has been accepted to Texas State University with plans to become an RN. We are so proud of you, Kaycee! 🌟 Employee of the Month: Celena Resendez Celena teaches Spanish and dual credit classes and does a phenomenal job inspiring and educating our students. We are so grateful for her hard work, dedication, and passion for teaching. Thank you, Celena! We are proud of each of you and excited to celebrate your accomplishments! Keep up the fantastic work!

So proud of our Junior High girls for finishing their season strong with a win against Olfen tonight at home! Though small in numbers, they are mighty! Couldn’t ask for a better group of girls to represent Rochelle!

Junior High Hornets closed out their last home game with a strong team win over Olfen! Patrick Gonzales led all scorers with 15 points, Jace Bullard added 8, and Santiago Rendon & Jayden Garcia each had 6. Great effort on both ends of the court! They’ll look to finish the season strong in Menard on Wednesday!

Here is a listing of the field events our peewee track teams will be competing in this spring. We have learned that there will also be discuss, long jump, and shot put.

Rochelle Hornets if you are interested in showing an animal or building an ag project next year please come talk to Coach Penn. If you are in elementary ask your teacher to email Coach Penn. There are so many great lessons to learn showing animals.

🍩 Reminder: Donuts with Dad Tomorrow! 🍩 Fathers and father figures, don’t forget to join us tomorrow for our annual Donuts with Dad event in the cafeteria from 7:00am to 7:50am (come and go as you please). 🕖 The cafeteria ladies are preparing fresh donuts, sausage, fruit, and your choice of milk or hot coffee to enjoy while you mingle with other dads. ☕🍩 Important: -Please bring your ID and check in through our Raptor system. -Mrs. Elliston will be in the front office early to help check-in or feel free to check in at the cafeteria.

The CX teams competed at District today. Xavier Mendez and Kaycee Davidson received 1st place, Abbygail Evans and Carly Baker received 2nd place, and Elizabeth Brown and Grace McBee received 3rd place. The 1st and 2nd place teams will be traveling to Austin in March for the State competition! Super proud of them!

Trey came out 5th overall in his division at the San Angelo Ag Mech show. He came away with some goodies and a ton of knowledge. Way to go Trey. He will be back at it Thursday with Angora Goats.
