After speaking with multiple members of the Rochelle ISD community and reflecting on all available data, the Rochelle ISD has decided to cancel school on Monday, February 3, 2025, in order to provide students, teachers, and school community members the opportunity to get well and to offer our staff the opportunity to thoroughly clean our campus. The junior high basketball games scheduled for Monday, February 3, 2025, against Olfen have been canceled. We will see everyone back at school on Tuesday.

The Rochelle ISD calendar committee has two draft calendars for review before being adopted by the Rochelle ISD Board of Trustees next month. Due to a recent change in the student attendance accounting handbook from the TEA, we must modify our calendar a bit this upcoming year to meet state requirements. The calendar committee feels that the four-day school week has been effective and has produced two calendars based on the four-day week model.
2025-2026 Draft Calendar Option 1: The first day of school is August 4, 2025 and the last day of school is May 27, 2026 (this last day of school is three days later than our previous calendars). The school day in option 1 will be the same length as it is this year. All other breaks and holidays would be the same as this current year.
2025-2026 Draft Calendar Option 2: The first day of school is August 4, 2025 and the last day of school is May 21, 2026. The school day in option 2 will be ten minutes longer per day than it is this year. All other breaks and holidays would be the same as this current year.
We are asking for feedback on both of these calendars from our community at https://tinyurl.com/risdcalendar. Please contact Dr. Fields if you have any questions or feedback at mfields@rochelleisd.net.

🚨Attention Pee Wee Hornet Parents🚨
Track sign-up forms will be going home this week! All forms and money are due by 2/10/2025! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

We’re excited to announce that we have new Texas and American flags flying proudly at our school! This year, our 4th graders will take on the special responsibility of raising and lowering the flag each day.
This week, our flag helpers are Slayden Stuart and Jase Ruiz!
