The Rochelle HS UIL Academic Team traveled to ASU this past weekend to participate in the Regional Competition. We are pleased to share that several of our teams and individual competitors finished in the top 10% in their events. Senior Sydney Smith ended the competition in 3rd place in Current Events; the Current Events team was second place overall. Sydney will travel to Austin in a few weeks and participate in the state competition. Congratulations to all of our HS UIL Academic competitors!

Rochelle ISD is very proud to share with our school community that we received an accountability score of a 98 from the TEA this morning. We are exceedingly proud of all of our students, their teachers, and all of our staff members. The district received 6 distinctions as well - which is truly a phenomenal accomplishment! We also are excited to share that this score of a 98 once again places us at the very top in the entire state (we tied for the highest score with one other public school district). Teacher Appreciation Week is just a few weeks away and takes place starting May 5th. Our PTC always goes above and beyond in supporting our teachers and celebrating them during Teacher Appreciation Week. The PTC is seeking help with supplies for this week. They have created a Sign-Up Genius link that has slots for food, paper goods, and even opportunities to come and assist with preparing lunch for the teachers. The PTC is asking that items be delivered to the school by Thursday, May 1st so that they are ready for Teacher Appreciation Week. Items can be brought directly to the front office at the school. This morning, Gunner and Sydney represented Rochelle with pride in both discus and long jump at the regional meet! Next up, Sydney is ready to take on the 100M and 200M—racing starts at 6 PM! Way to go, Hornets! We couldn’t be more proud of you!!

Congratulations to Merek for qualifying for the State Golf Tournament. Unfortunately the team placed fourth and will miss going to State this year. I will miss these seniors they are amazing young men. I love you guys and will always be there if you need me.
