Fields

The Rochelle ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Wednesday, May 3 to name Dr. Mathhew Fields as the Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent at Rochelle ISD.  Dr. Fields will be replacing the outgoing Superintendent, Mr. Dave Lewis, after Mr. Lewis was named as the new Superintendent of Crane ISD. 

Zack Smith, President of the Rochelle ISD Board of Trustees shared, “The Rochelle ISD Board would like to thank Mr. Lewis for his years of service at Rochelle ISD. We wish him great success in his new endeavor. We pleased to announce the news of our lone finalist, Dr. Matthew Fields, and are excited for our future with Dr. Fields. 

Dr. Fields has served as principal of Rochelle ISD for the past six years; Mr. Lewis served as the superintendent of Rochelle ISD for the last six and a half years. Prior to serving as the principal at Rochelle ISD, Dr. Fields served as a teacher, department chair, and Academic Decathlon coach at JJ Pearce High School in the Richardson Independent School District.  

Dr. Fields attended Texas A&M University and received a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry before attending the University of Texas Arlington where he received a master's degree in educational leadership and policy studies. Dr. Fields earned his doctorate from West Texas A&M University in 2022 in educational leadership.
