I graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1980 and got my B.S. degree in Animal Science from Angelo State University in 1984.  I received my M.A. in History from ASU in 1997.  I started teaching dual credit courses for Central Texas College in 1997 and from 1998-2013 worked as an adjunct teaching evening classes for Angelo State.  I’ve been teaching dual credit Social Studies courses at the high school level since 1999 and this is my 2nd year at Rochelle High School.  My main interests outside of my classes at school is coaching UIL Social Studies and Current Events.  Our teams have won numerous district and regional titles and one state title.

I’ve been married to my wife Cathy for 27 years and we have two children:  Suzanna (25) who is a graduate of the University of Texas and works for the Texas Legislative Council and writes resolutions for state lawmakers; and Carl (22) who is currently finishing his last semester at the University of Texas.  My main hobby is claybird shooting wherein I help coach the local 4-H team and with my son and friends, go to the occasional competition.

Teaching at Rochelle ISD has been a blast where I not only get to work with my wife, but a number of my ex-students as well.
